The WordPress website has to be for an event. It can be for any kind of event provided that my tutor agrees with it.
Here's a breakdown of what it must include:
- A home page with some information about the client -I think that the 'about page' can host information about the client. The home page should be sheerly for promotional purpose and include some smaller, less fulfilled features from the other pages such as map, merch and news etc.
- An about page with detailed information.
- A booking system
- Detailed information about each event.
- A news area
- Contact info and a map.
- An events calendar with categories.
- A shop selling some merchandise using PayPal A search bar.
- A gallery page.
- Ability to register and log-in.
- A blog.
- Links to social media, including some live social media feed.
- An analytics system.
It initially looks like a lot, but it's all necessary in order to make the website function properly for an event.
Im quite excited about learning how to use WordPress properly during this project. The exercise in hand seems to be learning the software, rather than testing design ability as such. I am allowed to use graphics and branding etc of an already existing event but the design of the site itself must be my own. WordPress has some great themes which I'm going to utilise. I will however be customising it to make it my own and fit with the layout I choose.
