Career Pathways

The next step now is to get a job. I'm planning on applying for A LOT of jobs this summer. If I land something really serious then I'm staying here in the UK, but if not I will be going to France to complete a winter season working in the Alps. Cannot wait. After going over there twice already this year to be an events photographer I know I have the potential to be able to work out there for 6 months doing just that.

Since beginning uni I've done a couple of internships and worked for a few companies as a freelancer. I really liked working for Bite in London but felt the commute really drained me day in day out and i couldn't wait for the weekend. I also felt that being chucked in the deep end straight away didn't help my confidence one bit. I also worked for Kineo in Brighton who are a lot closer. The work I did for them wasn't quite as fun as it was at Bite but it was well paid. I think I'd like to have another go at working for Kineo. Thankfully I've stayed in contact with Adrian Day who was my key contact when I worked their last year. Hopefully I can sort something out there!

In terms of photography work I'd like to carry on doing it freelance. It's something I never want to give up and I find every time I pick up a camera I find out something new about using it. If I can somehow worm my way into being a second shooter for an already established professional I hope I can get more permanent work.
