Thankfully I'm fairly familiar with After Effects after completing a project similar to this last year. It has taken some getting used to however as I've now got the most up to date version - CS6 instead of CS5.
Software
I am currently using Adobe After Effects CS6 as my main software for creating these videos. I am then planning to use Adobe Premier Pro CS6 if the video needs to be cut down at all or exported again for different usage.
