Players Car Show

I've been looking through websites for different car shows. Here's an analysis of Players' websites; shop and promotion page.

I think the Players Apparel website is successful. It's clean, minimal and lets the images do the talking. As a lover of photography myself I like the strength the photography brings to the website, as well as the colour it adds. I think to tie in a colourful website and such bright imagery can be a challenge in itself, so why not keep it simple.

One of my favourite pieces in the site is the header. I like the way the elements fan out from the logo like a hierarchal structure, getting wider until the full width slider fills the page, and then elements below are used to break up the page once again. I rather like that full width and chunky amount of space delegated to the footer. It gives the web page a definite full stop and there's plenty of room for links to social media etc.

I think from this website I will definitely be taking header and footer inspiration.

Below is their events promotion website. I like the quirky squares design and the wacky colour palette. The site seems to house all the functionality for an events website, however it lacks the ease of access to each of these things.

This square design structure could be great as a splash gallery for my home page, possibly even having it as an Instagram feed - if that's possible with the plugins available for WordPress?
