Lydden Hill hosts the British Drift Championship every year, so I attended and shot some photographs. Although this is the professional side of drifting it was good to practise shooting and networking with drivers.
I had access to the pits, however I didn't take full advantage of it. I will be taking advantage in future events as a lot of journalistic photographs can be shot in there. It will also help my photographs to stand out from the crowd as most people are preoccupied with shooting the cars on track.

I will be making another trip there again soon for some of the practice days. I'm really pleased with these images but they aren't the grassroots style that I'm trying to convey. Neither are any of them particularly good as b&w images hence why I've kept them as colour to show in the video above.
I feel like I've been able to mimic some of Josh Dobrik's style in the first two images by having things really close up and out of focus at the side of the frame. I'm really pleased to see how looking at his work regularly has rubbed off on me like this.
