I stumbled upon a photographer/ videographer on Vimeo many years ago - Josh Dobrik. His work has inspired me a lot in this project, mainly because he shares the same love for drifting and photography that I do.
I think his work is a notch up from mine in a lot of ways but not out of reach. Here are some of my favourite examples of his photography and film work:
This video is a great insight into the Australian drift culture. Heavily influenced by Japan in terms of their car styles over there compared to the british scene.

One of my favourite photographs I've seen and will be looking to replicate. The story of this shot is told so well. I've always been a fan of photographs taken out of car windows, and the action shown in this one gives it an extra bit of flare. The HDR look in the background isn't one I would have necessarily thought of using, especially not in this project.

This is, as you can clearly see, two images made into one. It gives a great amount of detail on the car as well as encapsulating the sky behind it. Its an intelligent interaction between the car, Nissan Skyline, and the 'skyline' found above it. Really like this interaction.

This is more like the images I am aiming to produce. Realistically I would imagine there will be less people, and a less extreme looking car but the idea is there. Lots of people surrounding the subject that they love. Drifting is as much about the social element and culture as it is about performing in the sport itself and that's what I intend to translate through my images.
