Editing images: Lightroom

Adobe released Lightroom 5 on June 10th 2013. This piece of software is a pixel based image editor, geared towards photographers. I will be using it to manipulate my images, as well as Photoshop where necessary. I find the workflow from import to export very intuitive, and the amount of parameters there are to play around with can create infinite amounts of effects.

Here's a screenshot of my Lightroom 5 layout:

On the left you can find the 'catalog'. This is a file which holds links to all the photographs ever imported to Lightroom. I find it very handy when I've forgotten where i've put folder. If the links to the folders are ever broken, as seen here, it will display a warning message. Locating and relinking this is easy and all edits done using Lightroom are reformed.

At the bottom is a reel of the photographs in the currently selected folder, and to the right are all the tools that can be used for editing. These range from very basic saturation and brightness setting, all the way through to tone curve and camera calibration.
